Think globally and act locally
Bobcat is known all over the world for the compact loader which was invented more than 50 years ago in North Dakota, USA. Today, nearly 1 out of 2 compact loaders worldwide bears the distinctive Bobcat cathead logo.
Bobcat skid-steer loaders were introduced to Europe in the 1960s. Over the years, Bobcat has become a key player in the world of compact equipment, adding to its original line of compact loaders also compact excavators and telescopic handlers, as well as an ever-growing range of attachments, which number well over 70 today.
Bobcat EMEA, whose headquarters have been located in Belgium since the end of the 1970s, markets and supports compact equipment in Europe, Middle East and Africa through a network of over 170 independent distributors.
Since 2000, Bobcat has significantly strengthened its presence in Europe through the acquisition and development of manufacturing facilities, bringing the products closer to its customers. Bobcat telescopic handlers are manufactured in Pont-Château, France, and an increasing number of compact loaders, mini-excavators and attachments are built in Dobris, Czech Republic.
In 2006, a comprehensive investment plan to build a new manufacturing facility and training centre in Dobris, Czech Republic, as well as a new consolidated state-of-the-art logistics centre near Antwerp, Belgium, confirms more than ever Bobcat's philosophy to think globally and act locally. In effect, 100% of Bobcat’s European footprint has changed in the course of 2006 and 2007.
