435, exclusive FastTrack™ drive system in a compact package
- Zero Tail Swing (ZTS) for peace of mind
- Choice between FastTrack™ or conventional drive system
- “Load-Sensing” hydraulic system – continuous movement
- Comfortable and ergonomic cabin environment
- Engine – M-Series liquid-cooled Kubota Diesel engine for improved hydraulic performance
The 435 is a Zero Tail Swing (ZTS) medium excavator in the 3-5 T class.
For projects that require a Zero Tail Swing excavator with more digging depth and reach, the 435 is the best choice!
There are two versions of this model: one with conventional drive and one with the FastTrack™ drive system. The FastTrack™ version provides unmatched travel speed (up to 8 km/h). This all-hydrostatic drive system splits the power infinitely between the right and the left tracks for more torque, precise manœuvring and smooth acceleration.
Both versions feature Zero Tail Swing (ZTS) that offers the most unrestricted rotation in the industry when working in tight quarters. With the entire upper structure of the machine rotating within the track width, operators can improve speed and efficiency on the job.
The 435 uses a “Load-Sensing” hydraulic system. This Load Independent Flow Distribution System (LUDV) offers a continuous movement.
The direct injection fuel delivery ensures engine cooling, fuel efficiency and reduced noise level.
No compromise on operator comfort thanks to a roomy cab, thumb-control auxiliary hydraulic system, and air conditioning (option).
Bobcat improved the work group with a re-designed dipperstick while incorporating the swing open rear tailgate and the flip-up right side access hood.
The 435 is equipped with the M-Series liquid-cooled Kubota Diesel engine to offer lower level of emissions and a direct injection fuel delivery system.
Easy maintenance thanks to large access openings and longer service intervals.
This 4.9 T mid-size compact excavator is compatible with over 15 different attachments.

ZTS (Zero Tail Swing)
The rear portion of the excavator does not extend beyond the footprint of the track to provide the following benefits:
• Minimizes the potential for damage to the machine itself
• Minimizes the potential for peripheral damage
• Lower operating costs
Furthermore, the design of the front part of the housing rotates entirely within the outside edges of the tracks, giving operators 360° of unrestricted motion.
Ideal for working in tight quarters:
• 360 degree zero radius slew range
• Unlimited spoil placement capabilities
• Operator can slew completely around and dump spoil behind the machine
Drive System
The Bobcat 435 compact excavators (FastTrack version only) features the industry’s first all hydrostatic
drive system, referred to as FastTrack™. It splits the power infinitely between the right and the left tracks, like the drive system on a skid-steer loader. This results in:
• more torque
• precise manoeuvring
• smooth acceleration
Bobcat 435 ZHS FastTrack excavators with version 41.0 software provide selectable Horsepower Control (HPC) for drive functions. The new software allows the operator to select one of four horsepower control levels, based on the operator's preference.
With HPC, the operator can select horsepower management levels by inputting keystrokes into the instrument panel. Level 1 provides full horsepower management, with minimal engine lug. This is the standard factory setting and will produce optimum drive performance when operating at full throttle. Levels 2 and 3 will provide less horsepower control, while level 4 effectively eliminates the horsepower management feature. In most applications, levels 2, 3 or 4 will provide improved manoeuvrability when operating the excavator at lower engine speeds. However, these levels will also result in more engine lug, so the operator needs to choose their preferred level.
Transmission
Bobcat has entered the market with a revolutionary and unique transmission for compact excavators.
Equipped with 2 separate piston pumps and high torque drive motors to power the left and right tracks, the FastTrack™ hydrostatic drive system replaces the conventional hydraulic drive system found on other excavators. The 2 hydrostatic pumps are belt driven like the proven technology in Bobcat skid-steer loaders.
This unique feature provides better torque control for:
• doing smoother turns under load and more gradual turns on surfaces like asphalt and concrete
• levelling operations
• backfill operations
The main difference between the 435 hydraulic system and a conventional system is that the drive transmission has no impact on the hydraulic flow available for the attachment. In contrast to other compact excavators, maximum flow is available for the attachment even when driving at maximum travel speed.
Undercarriage
The 435 ZTS Compact Excavator uses also the new type improved undercarriage which incorporate the following improvements:
• “H” frame design
• Beveled, sloping edges
• Enhances material shedding
• Reduces mud and debris accumulation
• Extends track system component life
• Ground clearance increased to 277 mm
• Protects travel motors and hydraulic lines
The front part of the undercarriage has also been redesigned. It is now equipped with a very robust dozer blade with two hydraulic cylinders.
Dual Cylinder Dozer Blade
• Standard equipment
• Blade float function is standard
• Invaluable for backfilling, dozing, leveling
• Serves as a stabilizer
Serviceability
No compromise on serviceability. We use the same design as on our conventional range of compact excavators.
Bobcat incorporates into the design of the 435 the innovative service accessibility we offer since introduction of the D series.
• Swing open rear tailgate
• Flip-up right side access hood
• Instrumentation can track engine and hydraulic system performance
• Easy cleaning of radiators (The hydraulic oil cooler is mounted on a pivot point to allow easy cleaning of both radiators.)
Cab Features & Benefits
We use the same cab as that in the conventional range of compact excavators.
• Wide door opening for easy entry and exit
• Spacious work environment for operators of all sizes (Plenty of head room, leg room, elbow room)
• User-friendly controls & instrumentation
• Rounded design for more attractive look
• Low overall height of the machine:
• Easier to transport
• More compact dimensions
• Less risk of damage
• Bobcat branded vinyl seat
• New designed door with increased glass surface area:
• All-around visibility
• Easy entry and exit
New Air Conditioning
The 435 ZTS Compact Excavator was updated with an upgraded air conditioning system to provide greater temperature differential.
• There is plenty of air flow.
• A larger evaporator provides:
• Air temperature coming out of the air ducts is cooler
• Better performance
• Orient flow of cool air towards the head of the operator
• Better overall cooling
• More operator comfort
Since December 2007 all 435 units were upgraded with the new Interim Tier IV engine meaning the 435 exceeds European Stage IIIA requirements.
