BOBCAT Compact Excavators - Digging for 25 years

Our compact excavators didn’t just transform Bobcat into the world’s leading compact equipment manufacturer. They also introduced a series of industry firsts to the market.

The earliest X120 combined outstanding performance with a low weight which made it perfect for trailer transport. The X125 was the first to have joystick controls.

In the nineties we redesigned the cab, setting new standards for operator comfort, and launched two 5-tonne models. We also introduced an optional second speed, the one-piece steel tailgate for improved service access and the expandable undercarriage. In 2005 the Bobcat 319 appeared with its innovative cylinder-over-boom design. With the 400 series came zero tail swing and fast track.

The recently launched E26 is the culmination of 25 years of relentless development. The complete E-series incorporates all we have learned about customer desires, operator comfort, ease of control and maintenance – and how to pack everything into a compact and versatile package.

As well the high quality of our machines, Bobcat is known for the strong, lasting bonds we build with our customers. This bond is the basis of our 25-year celebration campaign, ‘Bobcat & Robin come of age’. Robin is a Bobcat demonstrator who also celebrated his 25th birthday in 2011. He grew up on a farm where Bobcats are in daily use and decided early on to make them a permanent feature in his life.
