The Bobcat 3400D utility vehicle is the latest multi-purpose diesel-powered utility vehicle added to the Bobcat line of compact equipment. This third generation Bobcat utility vehicle is the most rugged, fastest and best performing off-road utility vehicle the company has ever produced.
The Bobcat 3400D utility vehicle is designed to meet the needs of both the work and recreational worlds. Thanks to a choice of drive modes and dealer-installed accessories, the Bobcat 3400D Utility Vehicle is designed to accommodate the needs of the widest variety of applications. If you need to do more in a day, the Bobcat 3400D utility vehicle delivers the power, traction and versatility you need to take on a wider variety of jobs.
The suspension system is four-wheel independent, with non-adjustable Mac Pherson struts on the front end and preload-adjustable shocks in the rear. The rear shocks also have two different mounting positions. The normal setting, which is more at an angle, is for ordinary situations, light duty and recreational use. The straighter shock-mounting position is for work situations, when travel is slow and loads are heavy.
The 904 cc 24.8 HP indirect-injected diesel engine of the 3400D offers nearly 25% more power than the old model.
The 3400D offers a top speed of 48 km/h (in high gear), 8 km/h more than the old Bobcat 2200D. The low gear and reverse speed (no reverse override button) is limited to 24 km/h.
VRA & drive modes
Variable Rate Acceleration (VRA) enables the vehicle to increase speed at a slower rate for the first half of the accelerator pedal’s travel and more quickly during the second half. It provides precise throttle control when manoeuvring the machine in tight situations (on job sites, in landscaping).
Turf Mode, an open rear differential, allows the rear wheels to turn at different speeds in order to lessen the impact on the ground (such as on manicured lawns). Two-wheel (locked rear differential for better traction) and four-wheel drive (maximum torque to every wheel) mode are also available on the standard and deluxe versions of the 3400D.
Machine protection includes a CVT cover (with drain plug), full belly skid plate, CV boot guards and a radiator guard. Another key area of rugged durability is the composite plastic cargo bed. The plastic cargo bed will not rust and resists minor scrapes and scratches, unlike the steel bed of the 2200D.
The routine maintenance points of the 3400D (oil check, clean air filter, etc.) are easy to access and monitor. The large 34 litre diesel tank allows the vehicle to work all day long.
